After cleaning, close a strip of paper at several points. Slight resistance when pulling suggests contact. A sheet that falls or slides freely in one region identifies an area to inspect. This test can also fail because the door is misaligned, so it is not proof that a new gasket is required.
Look for tears, splits, brittle areas, and a gasket pulled from its channel. Samsung says a pulled-out gasket may be pressed back into the channel; damaged material requires the correct replacement or service.
