Plan the route before making a connection
Choose a cold, potable-water source with an accessible shutoff valve. Never connect the refrigerator to hot water. 5. Pressurize slowly and inspect
Keep the refrigerator forward and the connection visible. Open the shutoff slowly. Watch the household-valve joint, the full visible tube, and the refrigerator fitting. 6. Position and level the refrigerator
Move the refrigerator with help, watching the line continuously so it does not go under a wheel. Leave specified ventilation clearances. Level and align the doors as the installation manual directs; this matters for door operation and ice systems but does not compensate for a poor plumbing connection.
Once positioned, inspect with a light. If the service loop flattened, pull the appliance forward and reroute it.
7. Flush the refrigerator system
Restore power if it was disconnected and allow the refrigerator to reach the state required by the manual. Dispense water in manageable intervals into a large container. Samsung’s flushing quantity differs across documents and configurations, so follow the exact manual and filter instructions. Initial sputtering can be trapped air; it should diminish as flushing proceeds.
Discard the first ice batches if directed. Check the rear connection during dispensing and again during an ice-maker fill. Never leave a new installation unattended until you have confirmed it stays dry through actual water use.
Pressure and flow checks
Samsung states that refrigerator functions generally need at least 20 psi. Many manuals state a maximum, often 125 psi, but the exact range belongs to your model. Samsung’s U.S. flow screen calls for at least 3/4 cup in 10 seconds. It does not measure pressure.

Do not connect to hot or non-potable water, force mismatched threads, omit a specified insert, or substitute random tubing. Avoid sharp bends and never put the refrigerator’s weight on the line.
